Not just 10 pics: Bazas


Bazas is situated at the south of Bordeaux.





It is a so called bastide, a town that was built in about the 14th century, not developing near a castle or an abbey but built at a "new" location, as from scrap, say, and more or less fortified, during the Hundred Years War.
These porches are typical for bastides. About half of the bastides were built by the english btw.
